Lessons at Barn Hill Alexander

At Barn Hill Alexander, lessons take
place in a peaceful room overlooking a garden. Because each pupil is an individual, my teaching is based on compassion and respect for their particular needs. ln a lesson I take people through simple actions,
getting into or out of a chair, lying down, walking. These are movements we make every day, and improving them with the help of verbal and
hands-on guidance can be energizing. The hands-on work is a specific skill which Alexander teachers develop in the course of their training. It feels very gentle, but it can be powerful. | ![]() The view from the teaching room |
Gradually you undo old habits and allow yourself to move in a easier way without the help of the teacher. Many clients speak of a feeling of lightness, ease and effortlessness. Most people improve with even just a few lessons. But when they see what a good investment the technique is, normally people have a course of fifteen to twenty-five, which gives them a wonderful lifelong skill: moving in a lighter and more fluid way.
Because many people appreciate help between lessons, you can also choose to join the Barn Hill Alexander group and receive a free weekly Alexander tip by email.

cost £37.00 and last about 40 minutes. Usually people start by coming once a week, then space the lessons out as they gain confidence; this also spreads the cost. | The technique and your gentle wise loving presence would do much more than many others could!
